My Cuban-American friend and I were on the third level tier. So, Djavan was visually the size of my cell phone, but that didn't stop us.
He sang all the favorites and entertained the crowd by elongating the instrumental section of the songs. In those sections, we danced!
The crowd loved him so much that the people on the floor left their seats to approach the stage. One woman even got up on the stage, took a quick photo and jumped back in the crowd.
Behind me, sat a couple. The husband knew the lyrics to all the songs. And as we left the Performing Arts Center, I saw a young girl on tip-toes hanging on to a window sill of a room in which Djavan was posing for photos with his V.I.P. fans.
It must have been really special to enter that room because local police officers came in to kick out all those fans who were outside the V.I.P. room waiting to get a glimpse of the singer or a chance to go inside. That was unnecessary, but no one took it too personal. Everyone was still in a great mood from the awesome concert.
